this is a kit lens, right?
i have the same and i'm beginning to see some bad thing about it, chromatic abberation can be seen in the recent photos of mine :/

yes, it has a problem with quality... and lenses on focus works not very fast as in canos eos 300 or 350:/ chromatic abberation i think appears because Minolta has CCD matrix, when others SLR has CMOS...

This exact same idea was used on Time Magazine once to portray the person of the year, but I can't quite remember when it was published.
